Biggest Ever Study Shows No Link Between Mobile Phone Use and Tumors

There is no link between long-term use of mobile phones and tumours of the brain or central nervous system, finds new research published online in the British Medical Journal.

In what is described as the largest study on the subject to date, Danish researchers found no evidence that the risk of brain tumours was raised among 358,403 mobile phone subscribers over an 18-year period.

The number of people using mobile phones is constantly rising with more than five billion subscriptions worldwide in 2010. This has led to concerns about potential adverse health effects, particularly tumours of the central nervous system.

Jocelyn Frost
Senior Account Executive, Lab Support

Jocelyn joined Lab Support in October 2001 and is currently a Senior Account Executive at our Pleasanton, California branch office, supporting the Bay Area. Before moving to California and taking a position with Lab Support, Jocelyn worked as a QA chemist for Cargill in Iowa. Her scientific background also includes a bachelor's degree in biology with a chemistry minor.

This past October Jocelyn celebrated her 10-year anniversary with Lab Support!

She appreciates the evolution of her position over the years, as it has allowed her to continually learn new aspects of the business. During her tenure at Lab Support, Jocelyn has enjoyed many successes, including earning President's Club honors four times.

Jocelyn's current role includes spending a lot of time developing relationships and managing current client accounts. She has a passion for her work and believes good communication with her team and clients is the key to success. She continually sets high goals for the Pleasanton market and works hard to achieve them. One of the things she likes most about her position is getting to work with such a dedicated group of people on a daily basis – the Bay Area Lab Support team and Dana Hallberg, Lab Support Western Region Vice President.

Important to her career in scientific staffing is being involved with relevant professional organizations. Jocelyn is active in NCIFT, AWIS, ACS, and the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of CACO Pharma & BioScience Society.

On weekends Jocelyn and her husband keep busy with their two little boys. They love to boat, fish, ski, relax at the beach, and bike to the nearby wineries.
